Chantilly park

Today the Milgate clan hit Chantilly Park and the Phillips family joined in the fun. We decided to go earlier than our normal time of 10:30, so we were there around 9:00 am. Gavin had a blast learning how to climb a rock wall, walk over a swinging bridge, go up and down steps, crawl through a tunnel, slide down a steep slide, ride a horse or 'neigh' as he calls it, take a moment to enjoy a swing ride, climb a ladder and hang from the monkey bars. When Logan (aka LoLo) came with her mommy, she and Gavin had a blast running back and forth on the ramps and the trail. There was a brief moment of peek a boo on the ladder. They literally ran themselves out, so much so that Gavin had to take a snooze in the car on our way to our next adventure for the day!  Gage enjoyed himself as well. The warm sun was shining on him and made him a very happy baby.

This is a great toddler park. There are very few openings for rambunctious toddlers to fall through and climbing toys are pretty low to the ground, so the fall is not far. Overall another great park visit. I have attached a couple pictures to enjoy. (Sorry they are not in order, they were posted from my phone.)

Next week we will be going to Latta Park and more info can be found on the link below:

Hope to see you next week around 10:30 a.m. at Latta Park!

Nevins park

Today we went to Nevins Park on Statesville Rd. WOW! What a great park. This is a handicap accessible park so Lil G was able to be strolled up to the top with Big G. There was a toddler area and an older kid area. Part of the park was set up as a racetrack with wooden racecars, tools and tires. Gavin had a blast sliding down the slides, swinging in the big swings, playing with the piano like chimes (those were probably the COOLEST), running over the swinging bridges made from old tires and running on the racetrack.
After playing for a while we had a picnic lunch under the shelter but didn't last very long with all of the bees flying around. Overall, Nevins park is definitely a do again park. Here are a couple pictures from the park.

Next week we are going somewhere closer to home, Chantilly Park. If you are local and are interested in joining us next week for our park visit, please feel free to meet the Gmen and Momma Milgate at Chantilly park around 10:00 am (I say around because we are normally late everywhere we go!).

Spring into Summer park tour

So u have made it a goal to hit a different park each week this spring and summer. I started this week with a picnic with the Alexanders, Gavin and Gage at Pineville Lake Park. There were a TON of turtles in the lake and I captured them on video and have posted below. Today Daddy, Gavin, Gage and I went to Robbins Park up off of exit 28 by the lake. It was a blast! The park is a tree with slides and climbing walls. It also has great hiking/running trails. I have also posted a picture below. I hope to post a blog on every trip to a new park. We hope our friends join us on this journey this spring an summer!

Gavin has a BABY BROTHER- Gage

Gavin has a brother, Gage William Milgate. Born January 19, 2012 @ 7:25 am and they are completely enjoying each other. I guess I am going to have to change this blog to growing with G-men since there are now TWO Gs in the house! I have installed the blog app on my phone, so we will see if I am able to blog more often. Getting time at a computer these days is almost impossible! Enjoy the picture of the G-men!
